Solidarity and camaraderie, these are the focus of this selection of short films. Animation, drama, and comedy - some based on true stories, each of these films present the need and importance of bonds and kinship in dire times.

Hide & Seek
2024, Rami Abbas, 7’

Hide & Seek takes us on a journey into the unknown.  After his town is raided during the ongoing war ravaging his country, a boy and his fish must leave home. This animated short film imagines their passage from coast to coast, and all their transformations. 

An Orange from Jaffa 
Palestine-Poland-France, 2022, Mohammed Almughanni, 27'

Mohammed, a young Palestinian, is desperately looking for a taxi to take him through an Israeli checkpoint. The driver, Farouk, discovers that Mohammed has already failed to cross the checkpoint. Trouble begins.

Palestine, 2022, Bilal Alkhatib, 14'

Its the First Palestinian Intifada, and an innocent man is being chased by the Israeli army during. He runs through the winding streets of his village, when two unlikely strangers shelter him.

A Short Film About Kids

Four kids from the refugee camp in Bethlehem decide to visit the sea for the first time in their life. How will they get there?

Blood Like Water 
Palestine, 2023, Dima Hamdan, 13’

Shadi comes home to peaceful parents with a lot on his mind. He has inadvertently dragged his family into a trap where they only have two choices; either collaborate with the Israeli occupation, or be shamed and humiliated by their own people. Based on true stories.

In Germany, a family from the Palestinian refugee camp, Yarmouk, are fleeing war in Syria. Now they must learn to live with their new housemates: Maria and her daughter, Sofia, who are fleeing the war in Ukraine.
